.. Issue: Interracial Adoption II Question: Adoption! Black Children being raised by non-Black persons! Blessing, Curse, or in between! Our children have a low adoption rate. Should we be glad that somebody adopts them or sorry?.. |

No. The reason is that white supremacy
ideology is an essential foundational element in "whiteness"
and, therefore, "white" person's own sense of self.
It is unlikely that they [white people] would either be willing or capable of deconstructing "whiteness" and "white supremacy" for themselves or for a [Black] child, a prerequisite to parenting, in a white supremacist context. I do not assume this barrier to be eternal or not amenable to change, just daunting. Barakha Hotep. |

They [white people] should [be
allowed to adopt Black children] because the only
thing that really matters is that the parents are loving and financially
able to support for the children.

African children who are in need of adoption
should be adopted by whomever is able to grant them *proper* care and
nurture. There are many African
people who are not able to fit that bill.

Comming from an interracial family, I whole
heartedly agree with the adoption into other races. In my life
race is not an issue. Yes, I was raised in the "white"
part of town, but no one ever told me I was different. The bottom
line is, if anyone has supportive, loving parents it should not matter
what color their skin is, only that they are loved. I believe love
is all anyone needs to live a successful, fulfilling life.

I think that your race
shouldn't place a matter in adopting a child. Just because your skin
color is of a different color doesn't mean that you would be a bad or good
parent. The parenthood comes from within yourself. There are
parents of the same race that are abusive to their children and they might
be better off in a place of the opposite race. Skin color doesn't
matter, it is your soul and heart...
I am of the white race, but i do not see a
difference between white, black, hispanic, or any other sort. We as
individuals are the same. The only things that are different between
us individuals are our minds, body, heart, and soul. What is on the
outside is not of any importance; it is what is on the inside of outer
shield that is what counts. |
